We are looking to recruit a full time Inspector to work within the Inspection team based either at Stockton, Immingham or Grangemouth locations. Note: the Grangemouth location is a home-based role but Axiom intend to open an office in that area in the future. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspecting piping, tank and other process equipment, dependent on the scope of your appointment
  • Informing the Client of the condition of the equipment and the remedial work, repairs, maintenance or modifications which maybe required
  • Creation and amending Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
  • Writing, signing and issuing of:
    • Inspection reports
    • Supplementary Inspection Reports
    • Imminent Failure/Danger Notification Forms
    • Movement Reports

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher level qualification would be desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as an inspector in a relevant industry 
  • Experience of inspecting process equipment on high hazard COMAH sites, specifically Storage Tanks and Piping Systems
  • Experience of specifying inspection intervals in accordance with approved codes and current Written Schemes of Examinations

Current Certification in at least one of the following inspection certification is required:

  • API 570 Piping Inspection
  • API 510 Vessel Inspection
  • EEMUA 159 Tank Assessor
  • Fired boiler experience
  • IRATA Level 1 rope access (Immingham location only)

Current Certification in at least one of the following NDT techniques is required:

  • PCN Level 2 for UT
  • PCN Level 2 MPI

Current Certification of the following is desirable:

  • CSWIP Welding
  • PCN Level 2 for LPI, ECFD
  • IRATA Level 1,2 or 3 rope access

Note: For the Immingham location IRATA level rope access certification is required.

Working Environment

The working site locations are varied therefore the successful candidate will be comfortable working in the following environments:-

  • Confined space
  • At height
  • High/low temperatures
  • Noisy
  • Dusty


  • A valid full UK Driving Licence
  • To be computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Able to work in the UK without restriction
